I started reading Normal People by Sally Rooney because one of my friends
recommended it to me. I had no clue what to expect other. When I first started reading it I was
intrigued by how unique it was written. There are no quotation marks to mark dialogue, which
differs from most books I have read. Little differences like this kept me reading more and more.
I enjoy how this book is written. It feels very personal and relatable to me as a teen
myself. It has a good mix of awkward and mature themes. I found myself intrigued with this book
from the very beginning, something that I struggle with normally for a lot of books I read. I was
interested in the evolving relationship between the two protagonists. I found myself angry and
empathetic for the characters at the same time.
Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone who loves young adult books and a real
depiction of teen relationships.
