Nyxia follows Emmett, a 15-year-old who is selected along with nine other teens from all over the world to go to space to travel to a planet to mine an extremely valuable substance called Nyxia. The company that is sending these teens to space is Bable, and they are offering obscene amounts of money for participants. To Emmett, it is more important that Bable provides the best possible treatment for his mom who has cancer. Aboard the ship, Emmett must compete with his crewmates to be one of the top eight that will become the miners while also solving a mystery. The mystery surrounds Bable, which may not be as trustworthy of a company as it seems from the outside.
This book has everything, friendship, family, loss, love, and is fast paced with a lot of action. I never got bored while reading it and have read it multiple times and enjoyed it every time. The reason I gave this book such a high rating is that I had no expectations going in because I got the book for free and had no idea what it was about. I was blown away by this book and how much I enjoyed it especially because I had not read much science fiction in the past and it made me want to read more. I would recommend this book to teenagers or anyone who enjoys sci-fi and mystery.
