Obsidio by Amie Kauffman and Jay Kristoff. Genre: Fantasy
**Read the books Illuminae and Gemina before reading the review.
Obsidio, the final book in the Illuminae trilogy, focuses on two stories: Kady, Ezra,
Hanna, and Nik making their way back to Kerenza and Kady’s sister, Asha, who is still on
Kerenza, finding an old acquaintance in the form of a BeiTech soldier, Rhys. As Kady and her
friends try to survive enclosing BeiTech forces with scarce resources on the way to Kerenza,
Asha and Rhys try to take down BeiTech from the inside. After barely surviving their return
journey, Kady and her friends finally arrive at the BeiTech blockade. Facing imminent death,
both sets of heroes take a final stand against BeiTech’s evil to win back their planet and expose
the sins of BeiTech to the world.
I thought this book was just as action-packed as the rest of the series and had a perfect
ending to the series. I recommend this series to anyone who enjoys reading science fiction novels
or likes to read suspense and thriller novels. I would recommend this book to young adults due to
some graphic language. This series is a must-read and definitely worth the time.
Cover - I thought the cover was a perfect representation of the mystery and futurity of the
novel and perfectly represented it.
