One Dead Spy is part of the series called Hazardous Tales, by Nathan Hale. This book is about Nathan Hale in the American Revolutionary War who spied for the Americans but eventually got caught and hung by the British. It starts with the Americans sieging the British who had earlier taken control of Boston. They recaptured for America and headed to New York. Forts were built all over, but the British simply had a much larger army and were quickly taking over. Something had to be done, so the Revolutionary commander asked if anyone would want to spy on the British. Nathan Hale volunteered, setting him up for the most dangerous time in his life and one of the most heroic American missions. Will Hale succeed in helping defeat the British, or will he be caught and killed early on?
This book was interesting because it managed to keep everything funny while also providing factual information about the Revolutionary War. Throughout this book, the reader learns about many important figures and significant victories and defeats of the USA throughout the war. Because of all this, I give this book a five out of five.
