I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Reading it I had completely no problems or concerns. I rarely give books 5 stars but The Picture of Dorian Grey was a masterpiece. The book delves into the story of a beautiful man named Dorian Grey as he grapples with his appearance, realizing how beautiful he is and his fear of getting older and losing his beauty. He curses his portrait, stating how he'll get older while the portrait stay young forever. The focus is on Dorian as he lives with being young, while the portrait effectively changes, looking more grotesque as Dorian's sins pile up.

As a reader I can sometimes get bored of overly long monologues that just rant on and on, while this book did have its fair share of monologues, they were so eloquently written and straight to the point that enjoyed reading them. I love to read about philosophy and this book had the perfect balance between philosophy and story. I was engaged throughout the book, the metaphors and the way it was written were pleasing to read. I enjoyed this book thoroughly, and I can say it is definitely my favorite.
