We meet more new characters in this book: Nesryn Faliq, Gavriel, Lorcan Salvaterre, and Elide Lochan. Several storylines begin to weave together as more is revealed about the truth of the Wyrdkeys and the Valg.
For me, this book is one of the best in the series. It continues to build the tension that Heir of Fire established, both with Aelin’s role as queen and her relationship with her loved ones. Romance slowly begins to grow, and strong friendships take hold. This book was so action-packed that it was impossible to look away from, and it had me fully invested in this story and these characters. This series truly grows stronger as the books progress, and I hold so much love for this book in particular.
