Family first. That’s the motto Bel Price always went with, but not when it came to her mother. She didn’t truly know Rachel; the only thing she did know was that she disappeared when Bel was little. Bel finally feels like everything is normal until a film crew shows up asking about the past. Then weird things start happening, the weirdest being that Rachel reappears. In this twisted story, Bel must figure out what happened to her mother, and whether she can trust her family.
The Reappearance of Rachel Price is an interesting thriller by Holly Jackson. I thoroughly enjoyed the book, especially because it was fast paced. I thought that the storyline was very intriguing, and the last ten chapters kept me on the edge of my seat. However, I thought that Jackson started the story slow, and then bombarded us with information towards the end, making it seem a little unorganized. I also thought that the love story between the characters was very unnecessary and did not add much to the story; it seemed random. However, I did like how Jackson made Bel very tough and even unlikeable because it was very different from a typical main character in a mystery novel. For these reasons, I would give the book a 3 out of 5 stars.
