Serving as the sequel to The Secret of the Unicorn, Tintin and Captain Haddock embark on a treasure hunt to secure the riches of the legendary pirate of Red Rackham. The duo, along with Professor Calculus, are drawn into a search beneath the sea. The hunt finally leads them to a mysterious island where the past refuses to stay buried. Will Tintin, Haddock and Professor Calculus finally uncover Rackham’s hidden fortune, or will the legend of the Unicorn remain just that–a legend?

While Red Rackham’s Treasure is a fun and exciting follow-up to The Secret of the Unicorn, it doesn’t quite retain the same energy. The treasure hunt is still exciting, but the pacing of the plot isn’t always consistent and some sections feel slower than others. Still, the introduction of Professor Calculus brings a humorous twist to the story, especially in his chemistry with Captain Haddock. He appears in later books such as The Calculus Affair and The Land of Black Gold. Overall, this book is quite an enjoyable read and earns a four out of five.
