Restart is a Fiction book by the well-known author Gordon Korman. The story is reflected in Chase Ambrose's identity after he falls off a roof and suffers from amnesia not remembering a single thing about his past life or what type of person he was. His former identity is a well-known bully, popular boy, and star athlete with many people hating him. As he learns to go back to his so-called life, he realizes that he no longer feels connected to that version of himself and finds a new identity. This was a hard process for Chase as he was reminded of his life before and even expected to change back from his best friends, Aaron and Bear along with his stepdad. When he went back to school he joined a video-making club and did many things the old Chase would never do. His chance to redeem himself was very anticlimactic and fun to follow along with the story.
I loved the mix of characters in this book each of them representing a different side of Chase. I also liked that the characters showed their points of view for a lot of the story. This is a fantastic book for middle-grade readers along with great themes.
