As with all of the books in the Shatter Me series, I absolutely loved
Restore Me. It definitely has a plot twist at the end, with a major
cliffhanger there too. I loved the writing style, and every book in this series
has been a hit.
“In the steady thrum that accompanies quiet, my mind is unkind to me. I
think too much. I feel, perhaps, far more than I should. It would be only
a slight exaggeration to say that my goal in life is to outrun my mind,
my memories.”
- Tahereh Mafi, Restore Me (Shatter Me, #4)
Restore Me starts after Juliette had killed the Supreme Commander,
Anderson, in the last book. Now Juliette has taken over Sector 45 and is
learning to lead. However, it’s a lot harder than she had thought, and she’s
doubting herself at every turn.
Even with Warner to help her through taking over, she can’t help but think
that he should be in her place. But Warner never wanted to take over. All
he wants to do is protect Juliette, which seems to be getting harder. As
more threats approach, will Juliette be able to defend her new home and
the people she cares about?
“Who says you can’t be cute and kick ass at the same time?” Kenji
winks at me. “I do it every day.”
- Tahereh Mafi, Restore Me (Shatter Me, #4)
Although I do feel that Restore Me’s plot structure is just slightly all over
the place, I do still really love this book. I really like that we get a view into
multiple character’s perspectives, which really adds more depth to their
part of the story. Overall, I one hundred percent recommend this book, and
make sure to read the first two books first!
