A Review of William Shakespeare’s Fictional Drama: Romeo and Juliet

This work of William Shakespeare presents the drama between two lovers in Verona, Italy. They would like to become married to one another, but their opposing families stand in their way. The name of these “star-crossed” lovers are Juliet and Romeo, hence the title of the tragic drama. They attempt to circumvent such by concocting a plan to run away, but the efficacy of such a plan is not to be discussed in this review.

This work is certainly one that is to be enjoyed multiple times, every once in a while, with each reception of the same words connecting differently with new symbols and themes playing throughout. Reading the text format and also watching the theatrical play can be useful when attempting to understand the complex themes and motifs in a visually discernible and audible way. Aside from all of the general bias against the play for being cliché and unrealistic, it can be enjoyable once one separates such a train of thought and simply focuses on the work as it is. Recommended for teens, although discretion is advised for violent and vulgar content. A good piece of work to review, although I am personally not too fond of dramatic literature. Four out of Five.
