Romeo and Juliet is a book that starts in the City of Verona where we see a conflict between two families: the Capulets and the Montagues. These families have hated each other since the beginning of time. One day at the Capulet household there was a masquerade ball and Romeo Montague decided to go to this ball with his friends as a joke and to try and disrupt the ball. This is where Romeo and Juliet meet, and they fall in love. This was a kind of forbidden love because the two came from the opposite families who hated one another. The book follows their times and love throughout the next couple weeks. In the end we see a lot of death and misery but also a lot of love.
Opinion: I would give this book 4 out of 5 stars for a couple different reasons. I think this is a very historical read because of the history of Romeo and Juliet, and Shakespeare's work overall. I think it is an obviously good read, but I did think old English was hard to understand at times. It left me a little confused on some minor and major details. Overall, the Romeo and Juliet plot was very good and it showed a lot of different emotions in a small amount of time. I would recommend this book to everyone. I really think this book is so famous and everyone should read it at some point in their life.
