Romeo and Juliet, a classic for the ages. The “pair of star-crossed lovers” fall in love, but unfortunately their families are enemies. The lovers immediately want to get married after meeting, and they plan to get married the morning after they meet. The marriage does happen, but not without challenges happening before and after the wedding. In this classic, there are many instances of bad judgment, leading to the Shakespearean tragedy ending that we know.
I was required to read this book for my English class, and honestly, this book pleasantly surprised me. I expected it to be boring and too old-timey, but I realized after reading this book that it was far from boring. It had lots of twists and turns that were not expected. The version I read, the no fear Shakespeare version, was very helpful with the easy-to-understand translation beside the original play. I would highly recommend this version to anyone looking to read a classic and have fun while doing it.
