Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare is a classic that I’m sure everyone knows about. This story revolves around Romeo and Juliet, who come from two opposing families. Despite these rivalries, they fall in love with each other and secretly get married to one another. However, their relationship sets off a chain of tragic events, which ends in their tragic deaths.

Overall I’d give this book a 4 out of 5 because it’s a classic play that resonates with audiences today despite being centuries old. The themes of young love, hate and prejudice is why I love this play. Even though the book kept hinting at the tragic ending, I was holding out hope for them. Eventually the two families’ disputes lead to their deaths. The only part of the book I didn't like was the ending because I don’t like tragic endings, but if you like tragic endings, this is the book for you. I do prefer this story to some of Shakespeare’s other works since this one is still relevant to society today. The story is also very engrossing. The main thing that I like about this book is the feuds between the families. They are interesting to read and the various characters are very fascinating. Overall, this play has timeless themes, beautiful language and complex characters. I absolutely love it and highly recommend that you read it to experience the depth and beauty of Shakespeare's writing and understand how relevant his language is even today.
