Scream 2 is the sequel to Scream, both written by Kevin Williamson. The entire Scream movie series is in the genre of horror/mystery. The Scream movie series also fits in the genre of scary movies called slasher films, in a nod to the method used by the killer. In this movie, the main character from the original Scream movie, Sidney Prescott is now in college. This film takes place two years after the first series of murders. While Sidney is aiming to enjoy college life and continue with her life, someone has a different idea. At the latest Stab movie, an ironic movie portrayal of the original story, someone is murdered, in the same way as the depicted in the original movie. When the murders begin happening again, Sidney isn’t sure who to suspect or who to trust. Many of the characters from the first movie make an appearance in this film, which adds to the excitement and enjoyment.
I liked this movie, rating it 4 stars. The suspense of never knowing who the murderers are until the last second keeps you on the edge of your seat. I would recommend this movie to someone who enjoys mystery, and if they enjoyed the first film they should watch the second.
