The Seventh Wish is a fantasy fiction book written by Kate Messner. Charlie
Brennan goes ice fishing and wishes for a perfect solo dress. However, what she
does not know is that her family will be going through a lot, due to the decisions
her sister has made. In Charlie’s life her friend and their families as well as their
parents, and sister play an impact in her life. She wanted to be successful in
dance and have the perfect outfit and performance. However, when her parents'
attention had to be diverted to her sister, her wants were hard to fulfill. She helps
her sister through this hard time with her family, through all the ups and downs.
She now knows the important lessons in life, and will learn support, as well as
what mistakes never to repeat. She succeeds by finding her focus in life.
Situations get better for the family, as their support has paid o. She learns how
her decisions can impact her family, and what not to repeat.
The most compelling aspect of this book is when Charlie has to sacrifice
her dream’s due to her sister’s mistakes. I was disappointed when Abby (her sister)
doesn’t learn from her previous mistakes, and repeats her mistake. This was
disappointing since this caused her family so much trouble. This book inspired
me to think or feel about how your actions can have such an impact on others
lives. I would recommend this book to people of all ages willing to know how
others can impact you, and how you can impact them in positive as well as
negative ways.
