Six of Crows is another spectacular book in the Grisha world that the “Shadow and Bone” trilogy takes place in. In the land of Ketterdam, six unique characters are faced with an impossible heist that they are to perform- for millions of dollars. Kaz Brekker (a lock pick & criminal prodigy) picks these five people to come with him to do this task knowing it could cost all of them their lives, but in return could give them the resources to create another future for themselves.

To be honest, I was a bit hesitant to read this book as I wondered if it was just overhyped on social media. It’s not. This is an incredible action-packed, fast-paced, book that surpassed my expectations. I didn’t think I’d like it this much, but I really did. All the characters were so unique and diverse.  I loved how the author wrote it so we could see the POVs of each character. The plot kept me on the edge of my seat and there were so many unpredictable twists and turns which made it an even better read. I loved everything about this book, but I’d say the characters made the biggest impact as I grew very attached to them as the book went on.

You don’t necessarily have to read “Shadow and Bone” trilogy before the Six of Crows as it takes place about two years after the events in the “Shadow and Bone” trilogy.  However, it would make you understand the background information of the book a bit better. I recommend this to literally everyone, but specifically to people who love fantasy, action, and a tad bit of romance. I also recommend it to people who enjoyed the “Percy Jackson” books as the writing style is pretty similar (and kind of similar themes/characters). I will definitely be reading Crooked Kingdom once I can get my hands on it.
