So This is Ever After is a hilarious story of finding love in just the right way. The book is full of DnD vibes and laughs. Arek is a perfect protagonist for the story and an amazing one in general. He is funny and relatable (I’m a girl saying this). Arek is an awesome character, and the story is an amazing story. The story starts at the stereotypical end of the quest for the protagonist and the beginning of the rest of their life, but it goes not quite stereotypically from there when Arek is crowned king by a joke and realizes he’s stuck. Worse than that, not only is he king with no idea what he’s doing, he also needs to get married soon or he will die. So that’s bad. Arek doesn’t want to get stuck with a stranger. And he’s in love with his best friend. So, once he figures out his best friend doesn't seem to be interested, he tries to woo his other friends. Maybe just maybe he’ll get what he needed all along. The story mostly leaves off world-building except for a few funny comments but you don’t miss it. It’s really about the characters. I love the way these characters interact and the way we really get to know all of them. Rion is a knight. Lila is a rouge. Bethany is Bard, and Sionna is a fighter. And you learn so much about each of them in the book. It’s a sweet fun read I’d absolutely recommend.
