Percy Jackson has no memories of his life at Camp Half Blood, and only remembers the name, Annabeth. He steps foot into a different camp in California for Roman demigods. Hazel Levesque and Frank Zhang are Percy’s fellow legionnaires. Shortly before Percy came to this Roman camp, one of the leaders, Jason Grace had suddenly disappeared. Hazel, Frank and Percy must go on a quest to Alaska to free Thanatos, the god of death, and put a stop to Gaia’s plans. Many complications occur, and this new trio must work together to save the world.

I enjoyed reading The Son of Neptune. Rick Riordan did an excellent job of tying The Lost Hero and The Son of Neptune together, so that the readers weren’t lost. Since the last book didn’t mention Percy that much, I thought that this book made up for that fact. I liked how Percy has stumbled across a new camp for Roman demigods because there are more characters now, and we can see how the two camps are connected together. If you are interested in reading Greek and Roman mythology, The Son of Neptune is a great book to read. This is the second book in the series, so make sure to read The Lost Hero first.
