Serena is just a regular high school girl, besides the fact that she thinks her father is having an affair with the cheerleading coach. She acts dumb but she is really some sort of genius, and she has all kinds of stuff going on. Serena finishes her junior year just barely, but for her senior year her friend Melody Grimshaw convinces her to join the cheerleading team and make an academic comeback. Serena somehow manages to make the team and she learns to apply her full potential, but during this time Melody runs away. Serena can either continue on her boring life, or go after her best friend before she loses her for good.
I was not very impressed by this book. It seemed very typical for a young adult book and I felt it was boring in some parts. While it was boring, it was also very hard to follow which was quite confusing for me as the reader. Overall, I would recommend to someone who doesn’t read young adult much, because if a reader is an avid young adult reader, they will likely find themselves reading and yawning at the same time.
