Ben Ripley is dragged into yet another grueling, dangerous mission. This time, he’s headed up to Alaska, where he must work with a group of his closest friends, and fellow CIA agents, to investigate a Russian criminal mastermind. Along his mission, he will meet old enemies, navigate through treacherous landscapes and endure the frigid Alaskan environment. With the stakes higher than ever and everything working against them, Ben and his team must rely on quick thinking, perseverance and sheer determination to terminate the enemy before it’s too late.

Spy School Goes North is an excellent continuation of the Spy School series that effectively delivers excitement and suspense to the reader. The book is fast paced and the cliffhangers at the end of each chapter make you keep flipping the pages. It is clear that Stuart Gibbs paid close attention to character development, particularly with Ben, who proves to have grown since his previous adventures. Additionally, the humorous remarks and actions from various characters add to the appeal of the book, making it more than a typical action-adventure novel. Overall, I rate Spy School Goes North a 4/5 for an engaging storyline and solid character development. I would recommend reading the previous books in the series as they are also exceptional novels.
