Strike the Zither was an amazing read that had multiple plot twists I didn’t see coming. I love
how the author incorporated Chinese history, and the portrayal of Chinese culture was very well
done. For a majority of the book, I could not put it down. There were other parts that did drag a
bit for me, which is why it is four and not five stars. This story is also gender swapped, meaning
every person in power is a female. The tale follows Zephyr, a military strategist who works for
Xin Ren, a warlordess, and her sworn sisters. Zephyr is the best strategist of her time, but after
being put in a tough position, she realizes she has to do everything she can to help Ren. This is
a hidden gem kind of novel, and I encourage everyone to read it!
