The Summer of Broken Rules by K.L. Walther
It’s wedding season, but Meredith can’t keep her mind off her sister - who loved the summer and the Vineyard, and died not even two years ago. To make matters worse, her ex-boyfriend was supposed to be her plus-one, though their recent breakup certainly complicated that plan. Luckily, a rousing game of Assassins is in the works, and a certain swoon-worthy groomsman has a plan that will prove quite distracting. This was a pretty enjoyable book and I thought the characters had good chemistry. The obstacles to their relationship felt kind of flimsy, though, but the game of Assassins was a really interesting plot device. Overall, it was a fun but kind of bland read. I would recommend it to any romance fan without anything higher priority on their TBR available, and I would give it three stars.
