A Thief in Thunderclan, by Erin Hunter, is a graphic novel extra of the Warriors series, set right after the end of the first series, The Prophecies Begin, and right before the second series, The New Prophecy. In this book, every night some prey goes missing in the Thunderclan camp, and Brightheart and her mate Whitecloud take up the challenge to figure out who. They suspect a few other Thunderclan warriors, but they have no proof. During all this, Brightheart finds out she will have kits. Multiple clanmates get attacked by other animals like a rabbit and a badger, bringing everyone on their toes. Then all of a sudden, Firestar and Sandstorm leave on a journey, so Brightherat can’t even report her suspicions to the leader anymore. Deputy Graystripe, the acting leader, finds out and gets angry at her for not reporting it. Will they find the mysterious food stealer, or will the mystery remain unsolved?
I enjoyed this book. It is one of the less adventure-ridden books of the series, with all the clans at peace with each other. The warrior books don’t necessarily have a great amount of purposeful humor, but I found some in this book. I’ve never seen things from Brightheart’s perspective, and this book provided it, which I wanted especially after she got attacked by vicious dogs earlier and left with only one eye. However, multiple typos made the story slightly confusing to understand at times. Because of all this, I give this book a four out of five.
