The novel follows Naomi Witt and Knox Morgan. Naomi moved to a small town in Virginia after skipping out on her own wedding and found herself the guardian of her sister's daughter, Waylay after her sister left unexpectedly. When Naomi finds work at a bar she meets the bartender, Knox and they are instantly attracted to each other but neither of them want a relationship. Naomi’s sister shows back up and her and her boyfriend kidnap Waylay. Her sister’s boyfriend is a crime boss and the two of them are planning a massive burglary operation and need a flash drive to continue with the operation. Come to find out that Waylay hid the flash drive and the boyfriend threatens to kill Waylay and Naomi in an attempt to get the drive back. The cops show up and get Tina, Naomi’s sister, in custody but her boyfriend escapes. Knox realizes that he has wasted too much time with Naomi and they get together and move on with adopting Waylay. Five years later, Waylay is off to college and Knox and Naomi decide to adopt two girls. I rate this book a 3 out of 5 because it had a lot of plot twists and had a happy ending. I recommend this book to people that like romance novels.
