Toy Story is the first ever feature length 3D computer-animated film, a classic that must be watched by everyone at least once in their lives. The movie still holds up today even though the film dates back three decades. Toy Story tells us about the secret life that toys live when humans are not present and looking. The story starts when Andy (the kid that owns the toys) gets a new toy called Buzz Light-year. The arrival of Buzz, a more modern toy, jeopardizes woody’s position as the favorite toy and creates jealousy within him and leads him to find ways to get rid of Buzz. The story shapes up to be a fantastic adventure story with lots of funny jokes and dark moments (more dark than expected for a film intended for younger kids) that make it interesting to watch even for the older audiences. Toy Story contains many valuable lessons and messages such as: the importance of loyalty, friendship, embracing change, acceptance and the dangers of jealousy. These lessons make it a perfect movie for the younger audiences, while providing the entertainment value of the film. Regardless of age, Toy Story can be enjoyed by anyone, and every rewatch makes you notice the fine details in the movie. Toy Story is a timeless classic that has everything from a good art style, good music to a good pacing where even in today's world of shortened attention span, the film grabs the viewer's attention, and it does not let it go. The story packs a lot of action into an 80-minute film and allows for it to hold up in modern times. I give this movie five stars and recommend it to anyone who has not watched it at least once, or to anyone who has not watched it in a long time.
