Two Cats to the Rescue is the fifth book of the Stick Cat book series, written by Tom Watson. It starts off with the reader learning that Goose, Tiffany, Stick Cat and Edith have now moved to a house in the suburbs near Picasso Park, where Goose used to live. It was much more spacious. One morning, the cats were served their breakfast, and both humans left Millie, their baby, alone, thinking that the other parent was with her. Millie then started to wander through the cat flap into the backyard, worrying Stick Cat. He got even more worried when she went through a gap in the fence into a patch of trees and started following a butterfly. As she continues, she ends up climbing onto a log in the middle of a puddle. However, Stick Cat and Edith HATE water, and they needed to think of a way to get Millie back home without getting wet themselves. Will they be able to quickly get Millie back, or will they perhaps need help from a group of five dogs they had previously met?

Tom Watson created a nice new setting for this book, as the cast is now in a new area that helps draw the reader’s attention to something fresh. However, I found the plot of this book very dull, since the only thing the cats were attempting to solve was bringing Millie home. Plus, this could have been solved easily by the cats just pulling her back or drawing her attention to Edith to help her crawl back home. In addition, in the book, the reader learns that Edith hates squirrels, which sounds very similar to how Poo-poo in the Stick Dog series. Due to the lack of originality, but still an interesting setting, I give this book a three out of five.
