Up is a classic-animated movie with an emotional story. The movie begins by introducing Carl and Ellie, two kids who shared the same dream of visiting Paradise Falls. Now as an old man, Carl looks to fulfilling Ellie’s dream after her death. The story is very deep and well written and balances mature themes like loss with humorous elements. The contrast between Carl’s grumpiness and Russell's enthusiastic nature is one of the best humorous elements present in the movie. We see a lot of character development take place and see Carl regain his sense of adventure and purpose. The journey, the sense of adventure and the emotions felt are the highlight of this movie. While the movie has a villain, he failed to grab attention and create tension in the movie, but this did not affect the movie negatively. The movie as a whole is an emotional and thematic message carefully crafted to showcase emotions and life in an entertaining way. I give this movie a 4.8 out of 5 and recommend it to be watched by everyone at least once.
