This fantasy book introduces you to a complex, creative land that follows several different characters. Within a rich and vast world, you follow the intertwined stories of characters during the story. Mainly surrounding the character Kaladin, you read about his journey to get revenge as he fights in a very split world.
Wow. Just wow. I couldn’t really write a good summary of the book as it’s a very complex story to follow, but I loved this read. It may be a bit confusing at the beginning of the book as you get used to the foreign language and terms used, but the incredible storytelling by Sanderson really helps immerse you in the world he’s created. It has so much depth and really kept me reading for hours. Don’t be alarmed by the size of the book as I assure you, I wasn’t bored AT ALL throughout the book. Yes, I found some characters’ stories (Kaladin's) more enjoyable than others, but every story was still very interesting. There’s so much lore and foreshadowing through the book, keeping you on your toes in the epic journey of The Way of Kings.
I recommend this to anyone who has time on their hands and is willing to be completely drawn into a masterfully created world for days. I would say it’s best for young adults. If you like fantasy like Lord of the Rings, Wheel of Time (also by Sanderson) or even Harry Potter, please take my word and read The Way of Kings as well! It’s definitely worth it!
