We’ll Always Have Summer is the third book of The Summer I Turned Pretty series and takes place two years after the second book and follows Belly Conklin, a freshman in college. Belly has been happily dating Jeremiah for two years, but that all falls apart when she learns that Jeremiah slept with another girl after they fought, and Belly broke up with him. Not long after Belly learns about this, Jeremiah proposes to her and although Belly still has feelings for Conrad, she loves Jeremiah and accepts his proposal. The main conflict of the book is Belly and Jeremiah’s families believing they are too young to get married, yet they still try to go through with the wedding.

My favorite part of the book is Conrad’s letters to Belly because Conrad has been the main love interest for the whole series, but this is the first time we get to see his personality and how much he truly cares about Belly. One thing I disliked about this book was how different Jerimiah’s characterization seemed from the last two books. He had always been extremely friendly and outgoing, but in this book, he is less kind specially to Belly, and is constantly pressuring her to marry him. It seems like the author wanted Conrad and Belly to end up together, and to do so she had to make Jeremiah a worse person and Conrad a better person.
