Mystery, romance, suspense. This book was definitely worth the hype. With beautiful

scenery descriptions and trying to understand the effects of abandonment, the reader will be

asking questions until the very last page.

The main character, Kya Clark, lives alone after all of her family leaves her. Being an

outcast in society, she experiences a lot of prejudice from the town’s people. All alone she finds

hidden talents and a purpose in her life. She shows the realness of struggling in relationships

after being abandoned while also longing for another human connection.

I was really late to the craze of this book but I wish I had read it sooner. This book does a

great job of showing how isolation can affect behaviors and cause trust issues. The main

character has such relatable experiences when it comes to relationships and resilience.

Beautifully written and beautiful story.
