After his friends help save the Rainwing tribe from the experiments of the Nightwings,
Starflight himself is captured by his tribe, where he is to be “trained in the Nightwing ways.”
While staying in his original home, Starflight discovers the truth about his tribe and is forced to
make the choice between his dragons and home or his friends and peace. In this book, the
reader can really get a genuine look at Starflight and see the reasoning behind his often
annoying actions and gives amazing depth to his character. By taking his tribe that he thought
so highly of and ripping off the mask to show the ugly truth it completely breaks his perception of
self and the world, resulting in new levels of growth not yet seen in the other books of the series.
This book was amazing because of it’s darker yet still easy to understand plot, and helps add
complexity to the Wings of Fire world and its politics.
