The book Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi is a young adult dystopian novel which follows Juliette, a girl whose touch can kill. She’s locked away in prison and is suddenly needed by the Reestablishment who fear war. She doesn’t know how to control her power, or her curse, which is what she thinks. She doesn’t know who to trust either. Now Juliet must make her own choices, and make sure she makes the right ones.
I really liked this book. I thought the setting was very interesting and it was captivating to see all the characters' personalities. I really liked the author’s writing style because it was very compelling to know what the main character was thinking inside her head versus what she says and does out loud. I didn’t really like the ending that much because I thought it got a little boring, but I’m still interested in what’s going to happen in the later books. Overall, I give this book a four out of five.
