The Weight of Blood by Tiffany Jackson is a teen fiction. The book is inspired by Carrie and the segregated proms happening in Georgia that came to large public light in 2014. It follows Maddy Washington and her classmates at Springville High and their roles on prom night. I really loved this book. The plot it follows and discusses I found to be really educational and entertaining.

In the fictional novel Zombie, Joyce Carol Oates tells the story of a serial killer with a

very twisted obsession. The main character, who calls himself Q_ P_, is a seemingly average

thirty-one-year-old male from a well-to-do family that attends college; however, beneath the

surface, he is a convicted sex offender who dreams of possessing an utterly subservient dark,

strong man. To accomplish this dream, he spends the book experimenting with different

the terrifying death of their twin sister, Caroline. In an attempt to

decipher the circumstances around her death, Mars decides to return to

It Looks Like Us by Alison Ames is a modern retelling of the horror

classic, The Thing, yet it still manages to feel as fresh and biting as

its predecessors. The story, similar to the 1982 film, takes place in the

Antarctic and is centered around a research team who come in contact with

a shapeshifting, otherworldly monster. A group consisting of five

In the weird fiction novel The Dunwich Horror, H.P. Lovecraft details the blasphemous

occurrences that resulted in an incident known as The Dunwich Horror. The travesty began with

“hideous screams” that signaled the birth of Wilbur Whateley, a brilliant but grotesque child

(Lovecraft 143). Wilbur, alongside his grandfather, took part in strange rituals that caused the

hills to shake and inspired hatred and fear in living. However, his search for blasphemous
