Its summertime and Greg Heffley is looking forward to playing video games and spending time with his friends. However, Greg's dad has other plans: He's decided that some father-son bonding time is in order. Desperate to prevent his dad from ruining summer vacation, Greg pretends he has a job at a ritzy country club. But Greg's plan backfires, leaving him in the middle of embarrassing mishaps and a camping trip gone wrong.
This book is a hilarious and entertaining book that kept me engaged from start to finish. The author, Jeff Kinney, does an excellent job of capturing the awkwardness and humor of middle school life through the eyes of the main character, Greg Heffley. The story is relatable, and I found myself laughing out loud at many of the situations Greg finds himself in. The illustrations in the book add an extra layer of enjoyment to the reading experience. Overall, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days is a fantastic read for anyone looking for a lighthearted and fun book.
