Absolutely! To Kill a Mockingbird is a classic novel by Harper Lee that takes us to a small town in Alabama during the 1930s. The story is told through the eyes of Scout Finch, a young girl who is growing up in a world where racism is prevalent. Scout's father, Atticus Finch, is a lawyer who takes on the case of a black man, Tom Robinson, who has been accused of raping a white woman.

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas is a very empowering book. The book follows Starr Carter

who witnesses the shooting of her best friend by a police officer. After his death, people started

calling Khalil (her friend who was shot) names. No one knows what went down that night, only

Starr does. The story focuses on Starr fighting for justice for her friend and her community.

The Hate You Give is a book, but it feels like an experience. What’s the definition of normal? It could be different for me than it is for you. The author knows this and purposefully plays with the word. The main character, Starr Carter, is African American. Starr is discombobulated about her entire life, especially since she's coping with the deaths of her close friends, hurtful stereotypes about her race, and the neg1ative aspects of her community. Starr's normal is abnormal, and she knows this.

This book, though not being one of the best books I have ever read, wasn’t that bad either. It was pretty

father in a racist town. When she and her housemaid, Rosaleen get into a bit of trouble, they go on the

run away from the home Lilly was used to. Lilly uses this opportunity to try and find out more about her

mother, continuing to deny the important information she had about her mother in her mind. She ends
