The creature, shunned by society due to its appearance, becomes bitter and seeks revenge on its creator. The story is told through many letters written by Captain Walton, who meets Victor in the Arctic and records his tale.
Let me just start off by saying that this book is one of my favorite books of the Big Nate series. This book has an amazing plot, interesting characters, and lots and lots of humor! Another reason why I love this book is because it incorporates little illustrations, and helps us visualize the book so well! I would definitely recommend this book to people who enjoy humorous and witty books! The story begins with Nate Wright, and how he created a cartooning club known as the doodlers. The school they go to (PS 38), has a major rivalry with their sister school: Jefferson Middle.

Wuthering Heights is a tale of lovers given over to madness and the effect their love has on others near to them. The reader deals with doubt as the characters change so drastically throughout the story. Emily Bronte weaves a psychologically challenging narrative that is so different from the common love story. Mr. Lockwood arrives at Wuthering Heights only to convey his gratitude toward his new landlord. Mr. Lockwood is the new tenant of Thrushcross Grange, owned by the morose and mysterious Mr. Heathcliff.
A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness is a tale about a 13-year-old boy named Conor O'Malley who is grappling with his mother's terminal illness. One night, he is visited by a monstrous tree-like creature that tells him three stories and demands that Conor tell a fourth, which must be his own truth. As Conor struggles with his fear, anger, and guilt, the monster helps him confront his deepest fears and emotions.
Alone is a very interesting story about a girl named Maddie. One day Maddie’s town is getting evacuated, but Maddie gets left behind and now she has to find a way to survive in a vacant town. This story follows Maddie’s journey as she learns how to survive on her own with a limited number of supplies.
Simon Snow and his crew are back from America with another person with them, Shepherd. Simon and Baz must face a new mage who claims to be the chosen one, while Shepherd and Penny try to get rid of Shepherd’s curse. This book is the end to this trilogy and summarizes all the loose ties very well.
Max and the Midknights: Battle of the Bodkins is the second book in the series, this time with evil doppelgangers, even more magic, and tons of humor. This book is definitely one of my favorite books, because this book checks off all the good qualities a good book should have- action, humor, friendships, romance, and mystery! Another reason that I love this book so much is that it also incorporates little illustrations throughout the book, and even changes to a comic sometimes!
