This book appears to be the sequel to the Disney movie Brave. And it is an excellent one. We see Merida come back from a journey, and she realizes that nothing has changed. On Christmas, she meets two gods. One, who goes by the name of Feradach, is the god of ruin, and his next job is to ruin her beloved DunBroch. And the other is the god of renewal, named the Cailleach. Merida makes a bargain to save her family and home. The catch? She has just one year to change her family, or she must submit to Feradach’s ruin.

Rule of Wolves is the sequel to King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo.  The book follows Nina’s journey in Fjerdaalone while Zoya and Nikolai face the growing troubles of war in Ravka.  The book explores the countries of the Grishaverse in a deeper sense and you gain a deeper understanding of the world.  With the multiple points of view the timeline doesn’t always completely line up but it's done purposely to leave the reader with only t

Nova Artino is a villain, but Adrian Everhart does not know that. In a world where having super powers is common, there is a struggle between the Anarchists and the Renegades in Gatlon City. The beginning of this problem started when Nova was just a child, where people with powers were being persecuted, and her uncle, Ace Anarchy fought alongside others for  their rights to live a normal life. Hugh Everhart began the Renegades during this time too, however he saw that the Anarchist way was hurting too many people, and took down Ace Anarchy.

The Edge of Anything is a story of girls that the outside viewer would see as polar opposites. Sage is the star volleyball player of her high school’s varsity team, and is hoping to be chosen by a college scout to get a full ride to play in college. Len is a quiet photographer, often made fun of by the athletic kids for her quirks and odd behaviors that no one understands. What no one knows is that they both have struggles going on in their lives that are hidden from public view, and even from their families.

The Night Circus tells the story about the magical circus that travels around the world. It has no schedule or warning, it simply appears, stays for a while and performs shows, and then up and leaves. One of the main focuses of the story however, is between two magicians in the circus, Marco and Celia. It is sort of like a Romeo and Juliet situation, their parents hated each other and they were forced to be enemies in the circus, until they fall in love.

Midnight at the Electric is a sci-fi/historical fiction novel that tells 3 stories of 3 young women, Adri, Catherine, and Lenore, facing difficult times in their lives as they learn about the values of friends, family, and love. One takes place in Kansas in 2065, one in Oklahoma during the Dust Bowl, and one in post-World War I England. These stories are all beautifully interweaved, but we do not learn how until the end of the book.

Stardust is a fantasy movie that follows Tristain Thorn and his journey to Wall.  Tristan visits Wall to find his mom and to retrieve a star for the women he believes he loves.  His journey however ends up being a path of self-discovery and finding true love.  To me the movie is about finding your true self and love. Finding love is shown through finding romantic love, self-love, and familial love.  I really loved this movie; it was funny, interesting, and the acting was well enjoyed.
