Daydream by Hannah Grace is a long and repetitive book with no clear message or image that sets itself apart from the other two books in the Maple Hills Series. This book is about Henry and Halle and how two unlikely people can come together for a mutual benefit situation. Henry gets help from her for a class he can’t seem to get and Halle gets new experiences from Henry to help her write her romance book.

Icebreaker by Hannah Grace is a different kind of romance novel. Telling from the cover, it adds a refreshing air of sports and emotional depth between the two main characters Anastasia and Nathan. Anastasia is the main protagonist in this novel. She is a likable, socially awkward, figure skater just trying to qualify for ice skating nationals. Nathan on the other hand, is popular, well-liked, and the star hockey player.

January Andrews and Augustus Everest are two authors with contrastingly different genres. January wrote romance and Augustus wrote literary fiction. These two were college rivals and hadn’t seen each other for years. However, when January moves into her father’s vacation house in Lake Michigan, she finds out that her neighbor was her academic competitor. When they meet again, they come up with a plan to resolve their writing blocks. They decide to switch genres as a competition. The book follows the adventures January and Augustus take and their ultimate love story.

The slow-burn romance throughout the book was what kept me reading. Poppy and Henry are the main characters and they have been friends since college. The book started off talking about how they hadn't talked in two years, but included well-transitioned flashbacks to when they met. They had taken annual summer trips ever since college and this is how they rekindled their friendship. This book is a well-created friends-to-lovers trope book. I really enjoyed this book because the characters were flawed and real.

Twisted Games is in my opinion, the best out of the four novels that make up Ana Huang’s Twisted Series. This particular book follows Princess Bridget. Yes, Princess. Bridget is royalty from a fictional country called Eldorra and so has a security detail that comes with the title. When Bridget’s personal bodyguard, Booth, is stepping down to have a family, Rhys Larsen comes into the picture.
