The Hunger Games is a story about a dystopian society of Panem, where two youngsters from each of the twelve districts participate in the Hunger Games. The players must kill each other and survive in the wilderness until only one remains. The story follows Katniss Everdeen, a sixteen year old girl who volunteers to participate in the games instead of her younger sister, Prim. The other tribute from District 12 is a boy named Peeta. Katniss lives in District 12 with her mother and sister.

Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi is a beautifully crafted dystopian young adult book. This hexalogy follows Juliette Ferrars who has a deadly touch. She finds herself locked in an asylum and there are plans to use her as a weapon. Follow her as she searches for answers and finds unexpected allies.

The main character of The Hunger Games is Katniss Everdeen. Throughout this whole book Katniss has one goal; win The Hunger Games, a deadly human killing game. There is only one survivor. Every year 2 people from each district are sent. Katniss is from District 12. Katniss and Peeta Mellark will be competing against each other even though they come from the same district. Will Katniss bring glory to her District 12… Or die trying to do so?

Katherine McGee’s futuristic, dystopian debut, The Thousandth Floor, follows the story of five different protagonists, all with different backgrounds, hardships, and secrets that slowly become uncovered. The author paints a beautiful, yet artificial, world, full of glittering gold technology, immense opulence, and a class divide that grows harsher the higher you go.
