Captain Underpants and the Sensational Saga of Sir Stinks-A-Lot is the twelfth Captain Underpants book by Dav Pilkey. It starts off on a planet in a different universe called Smart Earth, that exploded, with one chunk flying towards the regular planet Earth. It lands in a jail where all the teachers are, and Mr. Meaner eats it. He then becomes super intelligent and helps everyone escape the jail cell.

Back to the Future is a classic movie released in 1985. In this movie, a teenager living in California named Marty McFly is meeting with his scientist friend, who devised what he called a time machine. Suddenly, he gets sent back in time and makes the mistake of meeting his mother when she was young. Due to this, he accidentally alters events so that she may never fall in love with his father, rendering Marty nonexistent.

Captain Underpants and the Big, Bad Battle of the Bionic Booger Boy Part 2 is the 7th Captain Underpants book written by Dav Pilkey. The book begins with Sulu the Bionic Hamster holding the three booger men in his mouth and launching them out into outer space onto a planet. It seemed like all was well, until George and Harold found out that Mr. Krupp and Melvin’s bodies were switched, and the combin-a-tron that could switch them back was destroyed.

Anthem takes place in a futuristic world in which society functions as one collective whole. “I” does not exist, only “we.” The novel explores themes of freedom, human will, and individuality. You are introduced to the narrator, Equality 7-2521, through this writing style of only using collective pronouns. The book, while quite short, teaches you important values about humanity through the eyes of a person “rediscovering” it. 

The Devil’s Arithmetic is a novel written by Jane Yolen. It begins with Hannah Stern, a 12 year old Jewish girl from current day New Rochelle, celebrating Passover with her relatives. Suddenly, Hannah is transported to 1941, where she is mistaken for a girl named Chaya. Hannah and the other Jewish people in her village are then tricked into going to a Nazi concentration camp. Hannah and her new friends go through all kinds of torture and eventually can’t take it anymore.

When book publicist Clementine inherits her late aunt’s apartment, she notices its strange anomaly— the apartment will occasionally slip back seven years in the past. One day, she walks into her apartment, stuck in the past, and meets a charming, mysterious man who might be her perfect match. But as the lines between past and present blur, she must decide whether love can defy time or if some things are better left alone. 

Anthem by Ayn Rand explores individualism, freedom, and the role of the collective in society. The main character Equality 7-2521 is faced with the harsh decision between giving in to the great "We", thereby giving his life to the idea that everyone has a place in society, but you do not get a personal identity or abandoning everything he had ever been taught in the sake of learning about what it means to be a unique person.

The tenth book, Captain Underpants and the Revolting Revenge of the Radioactive Robo-Boxers, continues the time-traveling chaos. After Tippy Tinkletrousers’ latest scheme, George and Harold find themselves traveling through time, from the Ice Age to the dinosaur era, as they try to stop him from changing history.

Captain Underpants and the Terrifying Return of Tippy Tinkletrousers is the ninth book in Dav Pilkey’s series, bringing back the fan-favorite villain, Tippy Tinkletrousers. This time, Tippy’s time-traveling antics lead to an epic adventure where George and Harold face school bullies and even go back in time to kindergarten.

Operation Do-Over is a time-travel book written by Gordon Korman. Mason, the main character, is best friends with a guy named Ty, they would do everything together. They could not be separated until seventh grade when a girl named Ava came into the school. They fought over Ava, and their once great friendship came crashing down faster than it started. Since then, Mason has regretted having that fight, as Ty has hated him for years now.
