Veronica Roth’s Divergent is a gripping dystopian novel set in a world where society is divided into factions based on virtues. Sixteen-year-old Tris Prior discovers she is “Divergent,” meaning she doesn’t fit neatly into one faction. As she navigates her new life in the Dauntless faction, she uncovers a dangerous conspiracy threatening the entire society. The book delivers fast-paced action and an intriguing world. I also enjoyed Tris’s personal growth and the romantic tension with Four that added emotional depth.

Mary Shelley wrote Frankenstein in the early 19th century, a story about a scientist named Victor Frankenstein who achieves his goal of creating life from corpses as a scientific experiment. While Victor was solely focused on the process of creation, he unintentionally ends up creating a monster. Victor’s deep immersion in his scientific endeavors blinded him from considering the ethical implications of his actions, and he spends the rest of his few years alive trying to stop the Creature from creating havoc.

Jessica was supposed to go to space with her parents. And, she did… but she wakes up to nd nobody in the ship but herself. We, herself and… a duplicate of herself. As the story goes on, find out what happened to get the two Jessicas in the situation they’re in, and what they’ do to get out of that situation. I liked Star Splitter a lot, but one thing I will mention is that it had a lot of foul language/swearing in it, so if you are uncomfortable with that sort of thing, I would not recommend it. But other than that, I thought the book was pretty good!
