The Dark Prophecy is the second book in the Trials of Apollo series and is written by Rick Riordan. In this book, Apollo continues his mission to redeem himself to his father and finally become a god again, so he decides to go on a quest and restore several Oracles that have gone dark. The first book in this series was pretty mediocre so I was looking forward to this book to see if this one would be any better. And honestly, it is, but not by much.

First, they go to Rome to resolve a mysterious quest regarding the Mark of Athena. The first two books in this series established and advanced the plot in these books, but readers could tell that they were mainly trying to develop their respective characters.

The Son of Neptune is the second book in the Heroes of Olympus series and is written by Rick Riordan. In this book, Percy Jackson is back (though hit with a severe case of amnesia) and meets a camp of Roman demigods. From here, he goes on a quest with Hazel Levesque and Frank Zhang to Alaska to free Thanatos, the Greek god of death. Obviously, the biggest thing here is the return of Percy Jackson, which will excite many fans, and it’s interesting to see him in a new and unfamiliar environment.
