Sarah J. Mass’s Throne of Glass is one of the most perfect novels in a fantasy book series you will ever find! It begins 18 year old Celaena Sardothien, also known to many as “Adarlan’s Assassin.” She was raised to be a trained assassin until she was ensnared in the brutal salt mines of Endovier. That is until she is pulled out by the Crown Prince and offered the possibility of release if she wins a competition to be the King’s Champion.

The Young Elites by Marie Lu is a fantasy fiction with a mix of action, romance, and dystopian societies. The story revolves around Adelina Amouteru who has been marked as a malfetto for suffering a blood fever and surviving. The society acts as if malfettos as something to be disgusted by when they’re actually scared of their power. An incredible collection of stories from truly amazing authors, Cursed brings back classic horror literature. Without the possibility of using cheap jump scares or showing mindless gore, like most horror movies today, Cursed shows what horror is about. While horror short stories are becoming fairly popular nowadays, Cursed does the best job of it I’ve seen.

The sequel to the best horror short story book on the market, Twice Cursed was heavily awaited by the many fans of the first book (me). With the return of most of the authors from the first book, such as M. R. Carey, Christina Henry and of course, Neil Gaiman, I was excited for the new stories to be told. After reading the first book, I had high expectations, and this book both met and exceeded them.
