In this immersive and riveting story, Feyre’s journey is a rollercoaster of emotions. Faced with haunting nightmares and unimaginable trials, she battles inner turmoil amid politics and harrowing encounters. Her meeting with an unexpected companion leads Feyre to question choices and the path to redemption. It’s a choice of whether or not to let go of the path and how she wishes to shape her future. Maas weaves a fantastical world that effortlessly engulfs the readers. I found myself captivated, reading the entire book in one sitting.

Fourth Wing, written by Rebecca Yarros, is the first book in her fantasy series named The Empyrean series. This book does contain a couple mature scenes, so I would recommend it mainly for teens at least 16 or older or adults. The main character Violet Sorrengail, daughter of the commanding general of Navarre, has been forced into becoming a dragon rider by her mother. She joins Basgiath War College where you either graduate or die a terrible death.

This story is the last of the Caraval trilogy, this time, following both sisters rather than just one. The Dragna sisters continue to struggle to find their true love amidst the main conflict of the book: the fates had escaped (from the last book, Legendary) and wanted each of the sisters - and their loved ones - dead. While some wanted to assist them in killing the fates’ creator, ultimately none can be trusted.

Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros is a New Adult, romantic fantasy novel set in the Basgiath War College in the fictional country of Navarre. It follows Violet Sorrengail, a fragile twenty-year old girl who was trained her entire life to go to Basgiath and train as a scribe. In Basgiath, there are multiple wings and different academies: one for riders of dragons (who function as the airborne protection of Navarre against its neighbors), one for scribes, one for infantry, and one for healers.

Ash Princess by Laura Sebastian follows a girl held captive by a brutal monarch (the Kaiser) in the land his people (the Kalovaxians) conquered, the land that was originally her home (Astrea). While the Kalovaxians call her Thora, her name is Theodosia Eirene Houzzara (Theo for short). Theo watched her mother get killed when she was 6, and ever since then she has been living in fear of the abusive Theyn and Kaiser, waiting for someone to rescue her and trying to bury the girl she used to be.
