The book Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros is an adventurous fantasy book that will take readers on a journey throughout the magical world the author has built up. Twenty-two-year-old Violet is considered fragile by her peers. Smaller than the rest of her family, she felt as if she was destined to be a part of the Scribe Quadrant, the people who live among the history and books of her world, but yet being the daughter of a military commanding general mother calls for other plans.

The Dragonet Prophecy by Tui T. Sutherland is a graphic novel which is very engaging and is the first installment of the series. As the war rages for twenty years, a prophecy is given to the land of Pyrrhia, claiming that the war will be stopped by five dragonets that will hatch on the brightest night. In the world of Pyrrhia there are 7 different types of dragons each with unique abilities. After the Sandwing queen died without a successor, her three daughters fought for possession of the throne.

“The real dragon haunted my head and heart.”

What makes Dragon's Keep work for me is its approach: a medieval fantasy written more like historical fantasy than high fantasy.  Yet it has that sliver of magic and magical creatures (dragons, of course) to spice up the lyrical story.   In other words, the author avoids over-doing the chosen one approach, and instead creates very believable characters in a believable world.

Eragon lives in the dystopian Empire, and must hunt in the ominous woods of the Spine in order to survive. On one of his treks, he discovers a strangely smooth and hollow blue stone. He plans to sell it, but it is in fact not a stone at all but a dragon egg. This discovery launches him into a world filled with all that he thought was legend - the world of the Dragon Riders. But the Emperor is not happy with their revival, and Eragon must figure out a way to escape him, all while his dreams are plagued by a mysterious beautiful elven woman and he knows not who is friend or foe.
