The Summer I Turned Pretty follows Belly Conklin, a 16-year-old girl who spends every summer at Cousin’s Beach with her family and the Fisher family. Belly wants to have her best summer yet and finally have her long-time crush Conrad Fisher notice her. Belly believes that this summer will be different from the rest because she is now older and has become “pretty”.

Serena is just a regular high school girl, besides the fact that she thinks her father is having an affair with the cheerleading coach.  She acts dumb but she is really some sort of genius, and she has all kinds of stuff going on. Serena finishes her junior year just barely, but for her senior year her friend Melody Grimshaw convinces her to join the cheerleading team and make an academic comeback. Serena somehow manages to make the team and she learns to apply her full potential, but during this time Melody runs away.

Looking for Alaska is a thought-provoking novel that tackles universal questions about love, friendship, truth, and the gray areas in between. Miles Halter, a high school student, enrolls in Culver Creek Preparatory School in search of his "Great Perhaps".  There he befriends Chip "The Colonel," Takumi, and the mysterious Alaska Young.

Everything begins in Belgium, where Max Howard, his parents, and his sister Claire have recently relocated. He finds it challenging to quickly adapt to his new surroundings. He had to redo sixth grade in a French school, which was the worst letdown.

In his home's basement, he one day found a wine cellar. Ahmed, a Syrian teenager of 14 years old who lacked identification and was running away from authorities, is lying there. He was alone himself and had no relatives with him. They gradually became good friends as they exchanged stories over the course of the days.

Hoot is very well written by Carl Hiaasen. Roy Eberhardt moves to Florida, is the new kid at school, and meets a strange kid named Mullet Fingers. At school he gets bullied and learns about the burrowing owls that would get destroyed if the new Pancake House gets built. During the course of the school year Roy learns new things about himself. 

This book hit me right in the heart and made me shed some tears along the way. This book is

extremely well written and develops the friendship trio between the three main characters Dill,

Lydia, and Travis in the best way possible. It intertwines your emotions with each one of the

characters, and it portrays a very accurate picture of high schoolers navigating through their life

and preparing for what comes next after they graduate. It shows the journey of finding your

The BFG is a fantasy fiction book written by Roald Dahl. The BFG stands for

The Big Friendly Giant. He's not an ordinary Giant, as he learns new ways from the

humans and the Giants. He goes through many situations with a human, and he's

learning the differences of both the worlds. The main characters of The BFG, and

his Giants. Sophie and the other orphan children are also an important part of

Save Me a Seat is a fiction book written by Sarah Weeks and Gita

Varadarajan. Joe and Ravi are very different, however they have a common bully

at school. Even though they have the support of their families they need each

other's support to take control over their life, during a crazy time. Ravi and Joe

both get bullied by Dillon and try to get out of this situation in different ways.

This adventure fiction book by Adam Silvera was definitely one of the best books I have ever

read. It all begins when two total strangers get a call from Death Cast saying they are going to

die in the next 24 hours. Both download an app that finds them a best friend to live out the last

hours of their life. They set out on a mission to live a lifetime in one day together. This is a

wonderful book told by many different perspectives that merge into one plot for one amazing

book

Lekha has a birthmark on her forehead. It is supposed to be luck, but for

her, she would not say it is lucky. Lekha goes to a school with not many

Indians and she is always teased for her unshaved legs, permanent bindi, and

generally for being an Indian. Suddenly another Indian becomes her

neighbor. Avanthika, is a lot more confident than Lekha even though she has

an accent. This book is how she tells her story with ups and downs about

being Indian.
