Have you ever read a book that is narrated by Death? If not, you should. Death the narrator tells us

about this awe-bringing story about a book thief, a Jewish fist fighter, and Nazi Germany. The

organization of the book was put together very well, and it was a beautifully written novel. You read

about the book thief, Liesel, as she lives her life during World War 2 in Germany. Her mother being too

poor and not in the right condition to sustain her and her children, decided to send them to live with

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, by John Boyne, is a powerful story about the holocaust and its horrors-- perfectly encapsulating its troubles through a young boy named Bruno. Heartwrenching and gripping, Bruno takes readers through a friendship between a German and a Jew as a barbwire fence separates the two indefinitely. This book is excellent for people wanting to know more about what the holocaust was like and the devastation it caused.

Resistance is a historical fiction novel by Jennifer A. Nielsen. It follows Chaya Linder, a Jewish girl in German-occupied Poland. After her siblings disappear, she becomes a courier and joins a resistance cell. After a mission goes wrong, she is sent on a journey to save more lives at the Warsaw Ghetto. The emotional moments are the standout in this novel. The ending was bittersweet, made even more impactful by the impeccable writing from Nielsen.

My rating for this book is a 4 because the book does show realistic things that happened in our country that are often not remembered. History has its ups and downs and more often than not we forget about the tragic things that happened; even in our own nations. This book brings out one of the pieces of history that many people have either forgotten or don't even know about.

Rating: 4 My rating for this book is a 4 because the book is great, and I love all of Gordan Korman's writing. Most of his writing consists of some sort of transitions throughout the book whether it be perspectives or time period. The only reason I am giving this a 4 is because of the changes in time during the book. Some readers might have difficulty grasping those changes.

When they arrive, he gets separated from his family and gets put to work. Auschwitz gets evacuated and he goes on a brutal death march to another concentration camp.
