Esperanza Rising is a historical fiction book written by Pam Munoz Ryan.

This novel is Esperanza, the only daughter of a rich Mexican family. This book

shows the events that happened after her father's murder. Esperanza, her mother,

and their former household servants flee with many issues. The main characters

are Esperanza, her mother, and their servants. Esperanza wants to find a way to

rise above her circumstances, since her mom's life and her own depend on it.
