The Great Gastby is set in the roaring 1920s and follows Nick, Jay Gatsby and Daisy Buchanan throughout. Jay Gatsby is a mysterious character who seems to have a lot of money, lives in a nice house and isn’t involved in many of the parties he throws. Daisy Buchanan is a young woman who used to be in love with Jay but is now married to Tom Buchanan. The story was really interesting and enjoyable when it was talking about Jay’s infatuation with Daisy.

“This had been a sin of passion, not of principle, nor even purpose.” But in 17th century Boston, Massachusetts, a sin of any type had no excuse, especially not adultery. In The Scarlet Letter, Each chapter reveals something new about the protagonist. To me, the story almost feels like a puzzle. Whoever he is, he is very good at hiding his identity. After so many years, no one has found out yet. It makes sense in the context of how the story is written because Hawthrone uses A LOT of juxtaposition in this book.

Jonas lives in a society without colors, choice, memories, and the concept of death. He is different from everyone else in his society because of his unnatural eyes, empathy, and ability to see color. Everyone has a vital role to play depending on their stage in life. At the Ceremony of Twelve, where all the 12-year-olds get assigned jobs, Jonas gets assigned Receiver of Memories. The Receiver of Memories is the most respected and painful job, for Jonas will experience all the memories of previous generations.
